Senior Cloud & DevOps Engineer
You build and run the infrastructure PNI runs on – in the cloud and on our own high-performance hardware. You can set it up lean with very few hands, and you know how to take it into scale when pilots turn into customers.
What you’ll do
- Design, build and operate our compute environment across cloud and on-prem high-performance infrastructure – GPU/CPU clusters, storage, networking.
- Set up CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability and security from scratch – lean, but production-grade.
- Run simulation and training workloads efficiently, with energy and cost as first-class metrics.
- Decide when cloud makes sense and when our own hardware does – and build the bridge between them.
- Prepare and guide scaling: from first pilots to multi-site, EU-hosted, customer-facing operation.
- Ensure data sovereignty, availability and compliance-ready processes.
What you bring
- 7+ years in DevOps, SRE or platform engineering.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud (AWS, GCP or Azure) and with on-prem high-performance infrastructure – bare metal, cluster scheduling (e.g. Slurm or Kubernetes), fast interconnects.
- Strong infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform, Ansible), containers and Kubernetes; deep Linux knowledge.
- You have built infrastructure in a small team and grown it through scaling.
- A security-first mindset and calm in operations.
- Fluent English; German is a plus.
Nice to have
- GPU workloads and scientific or HPC computing.
- Energy-aware scheduling and capacity planning.
- Experience with serverless container platforms such as Cloud Run.
